SOURCES & CORRECTIONS

Fact-checking policy

How Tale24 checks sources, separates opinion from fact and responds to errors.

Last reviewed: October 9, 2026

What we verify

We verify book titles, author names, publication details, attributed statements, historical context and other factual claims that materially affect a review. The linked source in a review is a starting point; it is not an endorsement of every claim made by that source.

Source hierarchy

We prefer the work itself, publisher or author materials, official records, scholarly research and reputable reporting. When a claim cannot be checked to a reasonable standard, we qualify it, attribute it clearly or remove it.

  • A retailer listing may confirm bibliographic details but rarely supports a broad critical claim.
  • Social posts and user reviews can show reception; they are not proof of disputed facts.
  • We do not present an AI-generated summary as an independent source.

Opinion, quotation and uncertainty

Our interpretation of a book's ideas, style and value is editorial opinion. We explain the reasoning and acknowledge meaningful limits. Direct quotations are kept brief and attributed; paraphrases must accurately reflect the source. We avoid implying that we interviewed an author or read an edition when we did not.
